Roughing End Mills
PROMAX Tools Roughing End Mills are designed with a variety pitch styles for roughing or hogging large amounts of metal. PROMAX Tools offers an assortment of center cutting, solid carbide end mills in Stub and Regular lengths to fit your application needs.
-
Series 100 Roughing End Mills: Recommended for general purpose applications in material up to 50 Rc, including normalized carbon & alloy steels, cast steels, stainless steels, cast irons, brass and bronze. This coarse pitch rougher is available with TiCN or AlTiN coatings depending on the metal being machined.
-
Series 101 Roughing End Mills: Designed for Space Age exotic materials such as titanium and nickel based high temperature alloys (inconel, rene, wasploy, etc.). Its high-helix (40 degree) and fine profile geometry reduces tool pressure and generates less heat while allowing heavier cuts at increased fee rates. The Series 101 is available with TiCN or AlTiN coatings depending on the metal being machined.
-
Series 102 Roughing End Mills: Designed for light materials like aluminum, brass, copper, etc. The 3 flute high-helix roughing geometry produces a manageable chip that allows for maximum feed rates in profiling and slotting applications. Also used in general purpose applications for deep slots and pockets. The Series 102 comes standard with AlTiN or ZrN coatings.
-
Series 103 Roughing End Mill: Designed for use on extremely tough to machine materials with a 50+ Rc hardness and high temperature alloys like those found in Die and Mold applications. This 4 flute, slow helix (20 degree) rougher comes standard with AlTiN coating because of the high heat levels that are generated in cutting these types of materials.
You can expect the same high quality with these roughing series that PROMAX Tools is known for with all of our High Performance Solid Carbide End Mills.
