PROMAX TiCN, ZrN, AlTiN, nARCo® Coatings

Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN): TiCN is a performance coating used for milling in general purpose applications. TiCN is recommended when excessive mechanically stressed cutting is encountered. It is also ideal where high feed and speed rates are desirable.

PROPERTIES OF TiCN COATING:

  • Maximum Working Temperature = 400° C/750°
  • Coating Thickness (microns) = 1-2
  • Coefficient of Friction Against Steel (Dry) = 0.4
  • Microhardness (HV 0.05) = 3000

Aluminium Titanium Nitride (AlTiN): PROMAX's answer to TAliN. Our Advanced AlTiN is designed specifically for use on carbide end mills. This single layer coating should be used in machining hardened steel and high temperature alloy work pieces. Its excellent oxidation resistance allows high speeds in semi-dry or dry machining operations where increased heat is generated. PROMAX's AlTiN is extremely heat resistant making it a great coating when cutting materials such as Nickel based Alloys, Stainless Steel, Hardened Steels, Tool Steels and Titanium.

PROPERTIES OF AlTiN COATING:

  • Maximum Working Temperature = 800° C/1470° F
  • Coating Thickness (microns) = 1-2
  • Coefficient of Friction Against Steel (Dry) = 0.4
  • Microhardness (HV 0.05) = 3500

Zirconium Nitride (ZrN): The next generation of coating developed specifically for machining aluminum yet excellent when machining all non-ferrous materials. ZrN is also, highly recommended for machining fiberglass, nylon and most polymer materials.

PROPERTIES OF ZrN COATING:

  • Maximum Working Temperature = 600° C/1110° F
  • Coating Thickness (microns) = 1-2
  • Coefficient of Friction Against Steel (Dry) = 0.55
  • Microhardness (HV 0.05) = 3000

nACRo®: Our newest addition to our coatings, this Aluminum-Chromium-Silicon nanocomposite is Extremely Heat and Scratch Resistant making is the perfect coating for "Tough" Difficult to Cut Materials where temperatures dramatically increase during the cutting process.

PROPERTIES OF nACRo® COATING:

  • Maximum Working Temperature = 1110° C/2012° F
  • Coating Thickness (microns) = 1-7
  • Coefficient of Friction Against Steel (Dry) = 0.35
  • Microhardness (HV 0.05) = 4000
